International Software Architecture Qualification Board (iSAQB®)

The iSAQB® CPSA Scheme (Certified Professional for Software Architecture) is a structured training system that focuses on the qualification of software architects. It consists of two successive levels: the Foundation Level (CPSA-F) and the Advanced Level (CPSA-A). 

The International Software Architecture Qualification Board (iSAQB®) has set itself the goal of creating uniform standards for the training and certification of software architects. It promotes the quality of training in this area by developing curricula and certification examinations and promoting best practices.

Structure

The CPSA scheme consists of two main levels:

  1. Foundation Level (CPSA-F): This level lays the foundations of software architecture. Participants learn how to translate requirements into an appropriate software architecture and document it.

    The content includes:
    • Basic concepts of software architecture
    • Tasks and responsibilities of software architects
    • State-of-the-art methods for the development of software architectures
       
  2. Advanced Level (CPSA-A): The Advanced Level is aimed at experienced professionals and requires proof of credit points in various areas of competence such as methodological, technical and communication skills. Participants must collect at least 70 credit points in order to be admitted to the examination. The following courses are available to earn credit points:
     
    • DDD: Domain Driven Design (Tech: 0 p. | Method: 20 p. | Comm: 10 p.)
    • SOFT: Soft Skills for Architects (Tech: 0 p. | Method: 0 p. | Comm: 30 p.)
    • IMPROVE: Evolution & Improvement (Tech: 10 p. | Method: 20 p. | Comm: 0 p.)
    • CLOUDINFRA: Infrastrucutre, Container, and Cloud Native (Tech: 20 p. | Method: 10 p. | Comm: 0 p.)
